- This option will call up an individual student and list the registration
- details of this student. The functions of the buttons and mouse are the same
- as in the page through group option. The left button will insert "n"
- indicating a note or reason for absence has been supplied. The middle button
- "O" for absence and the right button "L" for late. The middle and right
- button together will insert a "/" or "\" as appropriate to indicate present,
- the middle and left buttons insert a "C" to indicate the student is on a
- course and the left and right buttons can be used to insert "T" for
- treatment indicating at the dentist etc. The program credits such temporary
- absence as present so this should only be used when the student is only
- absent for part of the session. For those missing a full half session by
- being at the dentist a "n" should be inserted for confirmed absence. All
- three buttons reset to unmarked. A and R indicate students logging out and
- in during a session. The times are stored in files in !REG and you should use
- this to decide which category to edit As and Rs to as these characters are
- ignored as far as statistics are concerned.

- When using combinations of buttons it is best to position the pointer away
- from the marking area, hold down the buttons and move the arrow onto the
- position, then when marked, off again and release. With a little practice
- this becomes the easiest way to edit but you can also use the keyboard in
- conjunction with the pointer when for example editing a group of students in
- the same tutor group. Clicking select on the screen buttons or using the
- keyboard (Page up, up arrow etc) will show you what is possible. On the term
- button, clicking left will give you term 1, middle term 2 and right term 3.
- You should leave using exit or your amendments will not be saved to disc.
